Dining By Design is an annual event held at the Architectural Digest Design Show by DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS). In 2014, Flexform -- the consummate Italian furniture brand -- invited Søren Rose Studio to design a booth around their table and chairs.
We decided to build a dining experience out of bespoke objects, customized for the space. In a world where we so often buy throw-away items, we wanted to create a 144-square foot ode to crafted objects that deserve to be passed down from one generation to the next. From the booth's etched Verde Alpi marble sign, to the engraved axe and the limited edition cutting board, each item was made to be gazed at by passers by with a sense of warmth (and a little lust).
