The gut renovation of this 8,000 square foot, four-floor Manhattan penthouse helped shape my career. The project was an enormous undertaking; equal parts exciting and challenging. The client -- a high-end fashion designer -- had a scrutinizing eye and a tendency to change his mind. So while the brutally modern design demanded an attention to detail that I wasn't accustomed to prior, I came out on the other side with sharper conviction and a more adroit architectural sense.

The most pervasive materials throughout were Bianco Sivec white marble, blackened steel, fumed antique white oak flooring, and glass. The stark contrast between light and dark was dramatic, and in perfect accord with our client's aesthetic ideal.
